Austrian casinos are very important to the municipal authorities in the towns where they are located. Casinos Austria is strongly committed to promoting tourism through its participation in tourist events such as the itb or BIT. Joint advertising and PR campaigns with Österreich Werbung, AUA, Lauda Air, Tyrolean Airways, ÖBB, provincial tourism authorities and regional tourist offices provide additional stimulus. Casinos Austria also sponsors the Ludwig Boltzmann Institute for Tourism and Recreation Research.
Congress activities are a vital component of tourism in Austria. Since the construction of Casino Velden and the addition of the Casineum in 1989 facilities have been available for events of all kinds.

Golden Roulette Ball

Casinos Austria has always promoted tourism and the restaurant and hotel sector in Austria. Austrian hospitality is renowned throughout the world, and restaurant and hotel owners pamper guests through the cultivation of tradition, excellent cuisine, professional service and a unique atmosphere.

The Golden Roulette Ball is a symbol of this commitment. It is similar to the French Clef d’Or and has been awarded by Casinos Austria every year since 1982 on the recommendation of Gault Millau to restaurants in Austria and other countries.

Golden Grape

On the recommendation of the organizers of the Burgenland Wine Week, Casinos Austria awards the Golden Grape every year to a wine-growing business from Burgenland in rotation for the best red, white and sweet wine graded on a 20-point scale by an independent jury of experts and wine-growers.

The prize donated by Casinos Austria and awarded annually since 1986 has become a much sought-after symbol of top-quality wine from Burgenland. The award of the Golden Grape is one of the high points of the Burgenland Wine Week and the Festival of 1,000 Wines in Eisenstadt.

The Golden Roulette Ball 2005

On October, 2nd Josef Lentsch, owner of the restaurant and vineyard “Zur Dankbarkeit” received the “Golden Roulette Ball”, a gastronomical-culinary honour, from Casinos Austria. At a festive celebration in Podersdorf Chief Representative Prof. Gerhard Skoff handed over the bronze statue together with Gault Millau editor Karl Hohenlohe. Prof. Skoff awarded the trophy for the first time in his new function.

The Golden Grape 2005

On August 29, Casinos Austria awarded the Goldene Traube for the 20th time. In accord with the recommendation of the organiser of the Burgenland Wine Week, Deputy General Director Dr. Emil Mezgolits and Burgenland Governor Hans Niessl gave the prestigious award to Weingut (Vineyard) Ing. Richard Haider in Illmitz for its Muscat Ottonel Trockenbeerenauslese 2002.
