The absolute poker highlight of the year returns to Lake Wörthersee in just a few days. Once again, this summer Casino Velden will be the venue for an absolute highlight on the international poker tournament calendar: from July 18 to 30, the 32nd European Poker Championship will be played out in 16 tournaments at 45 poker tables, with – for the first time – seven European Championship titles at stake. The tournament classics “Showdown at Lake Wörthersee” and “Lake Wörthersee Poker Party” will also be part of the programme.
Although the European Poker Championship has only been played at Casino Velden since 2015, numerous poker players have been coming to Lake Wörthersee over the summer for the past three decades. The unique location, the Mediterranean flair, the regional hospitality, excellent food and the turquoise blue waters of Lake Wörthersee make the European Poker Championship a unique experience for every poker fan. The event is also an enormous boon for the region’s hotel and gastronomy industry, as there is always enough time to enjoy the exceptional flair of the region away from the poker tables.
During the event, Casino Velden will be inviting participants to gastronomic treats such as Carinthia’s “Brettljause”, a suckling pig roast and the culinary delights cooked up by Marcel J. Vanic’s excellent 3-toque kitchen.
The casino’s own motorboat, complete with a driver and available to poker players free of charge, offers relaxing hours on the turquoise blue waters of Lake Wörthersee.
