Running for those who can’t run themselves: The idea behind the Wings for Life World Run is groundbreaking in several respects. The entry fee of all participants around the world will be fully donated to spinal cord research – with the aim of enabling paraplegics to walk again themselves one day. There is no finishing line for the runners, the race is over when they are overtaken by the “Catcher Car”.
The Wings for Life World Run 2022 will start on Sunday, May 8 at 1 p.m. Central European Time. Participation is possible virtually from anywhere via an app. In Vienna, the charity run will take place as a Flagship Run again this year with participants running a fixed route together, starting at Ringstraße. The large number of registrations, together with the fans, means that everyone can look forward to a big event again this year.
In addition to its sponsorship of an important sociopolitical cause, Casinos Austria is providing an exciting entertainment programme: in the Partner Village at the start of the race at Rathausplatz, a casino area will be set up on May 7 and 8 offering a round of the popular giant roulette game every 15 minutes. There are casino vouchers to be won, and all participants will receive bonus vouchers for their next casino visit.
On Sunday at 10.50 a.m. the main prize is up for grabs: a fortune weekend in Salzburg for two people including 2 nights in a hotel, a guided tour of Hangar-7, dinner at the award-winning restaurant “Ikarus”, and welcome chips for an entertaining visit to Casino Salzburg. As a consolation prize, all other participants in the main round of the game will receive starter codes for app run participation in the Wings for Life World Run 2023. The luck of the dice leads to participation in the main round of the game: on Saturday and Sunday, promotional staff from the casino will be offering gaming fun with foam dice at the Partner Village. The first 37 participants with a lucky hand at rolling the dice will be automatically entered into the draw.
