Casinos Austria International successful in bidding procedure for Japan casino resort

In Nagasaki Prefecture's complex selection process, CAI achieved an important milestone thanks to its experience, professionalism, responsibility and safety.

Today, a major hurdle in an extremely complex selection procedure was cleared: Nagasaki Prefecture (Japan) selected Casinos Austria International (CAI) as a preferred candidate for the development and operation of an Integrated Casino Resort. CAI was on the Nagasaki Prefecture's shortlist and was able to hold its own against reputable casino operators including the French “Partouche Group” and the US operator “Mohegan Sun”.

In Japan, the complex process of awarding three casino licences allows individual prefectures to apply for one of these licences for the coming year with previously selected casino operators.

Effective today, Casinos Austria International is a partner of Nagasaki Prefecture, one of the four prefectures (next to Osaka, Wakayama and Yokohama) that will apply for one of three casino licences to be awarded in 2022.

This casino project is to be developed alongside the currently existing “Huis Ten Bosch” theme park. Around 2,200 slot machines and 220 gaming tables are to be operated on around 90,000 m2, offering a gaming experience of the highest international standards. An Integrated Casino Resort with eight hotels as well as conference and exhibition centres and entertainment complexes is planned in cooperation with reputable Japanese and international partners.

Casinos Austria's CEO Bettina Glatz-Kremsner is delighted with this positive development: “By passing this milestone in the award process in Japan, Casinos Austria International has once again demonstrated the kind of excellent reputation that the company enjoys abroad. After years of restructuring, CAI is back on track. Its know-how and expertise in the development and operation of such complex projects continue to be impressive. I wish Casinos Austria International, under Christoph Zurucker-Burda's management, all the best and that they will be awarded one of the three licences next year, together with the Nagasaki Prefecture.“
