The poker elite meets at Casino Velden once again

Around 1,000 players convened at Casino Velden during the first days of the 31st European Poker Championship. Among them was the newly crowned Ladies Poker World Champion Jessica Teusl, who aims to defend her Ladies European Championship title on Lake Wörthersee.

One of the six European titles has already been awarded, and it was Harry Casagrande who played his cards right to become the new European Seven Card Stud Champion. He has already celebrated several victories at Casino Velden, but he was able to prevail in the 61-strong field of the European Seven Card Stud Championship for the very first time and secure prize money amounting to 11,430 euros.

The “Showdown on Lake Wörthersee”, Austria’s largest poker event, also made a strong appearance, attracting 756 players this year. The winner will receive over 64,000 euros.

During the European Poker Championship, Casino Velden will be treating participants to culinary delights such as Carinthia’s “Brettljause”, a suckling pig roast and the culinary delights cooked up by Marcel J. Vanic’s excellent 3-toque kitchen. A motorboat, complete with a driver and available to players free of charge, offers relaxing hours on the turquoise blue waters of Lake Wörthersee.

By July 24, five titles will have been awarded – Ladies, Pot Limit Omaha, No Limit Hold’em High Roller, No Limit Hold’em (the main event) and the new Mystery Bounty.
