“Glückliche Augenblicke” (“Happy Moments”) initiative is set to continue

Casinos Austria
Casinos Austria, in partnership with Austrian Cancer Aid, is offering cultural experiences for people living with cancer.

Enjoying an evening at the theatre or a concert is something people with cancer can hardly ever take for granted. This is exactly where Casinos Austria’s “Happy Moments” initiative comes in, and it is now being continued in partnership with Austrian Cancer Aid. It offers patients a cultural break as well as an opportunity to enjoy moments away from the stress of everyday life.

Director General Erwin van Lambaart had this to say: “This initiative, launched in collaboration with Austrian Cancer Aid as well as our partners in the arts and culture sector, stands for something that is very important to us: taking responsibility and working together to make a difference for the Austrian people. Partnerships like these demonstrate our understanding of social responsibility. The challenges faced by cancer victims are immense. If there’s anything we can do to provide a little relief, we’re more than happy to do so."

As part of the initiative, Casinos Austria makes tickets available for cultural events through its existing partnerships. These include tickets to the Burgtheater, the Bregenz Festival and productions by the Vereinigte Bühnen Wien. Tickets are distributed by Austrian Cancer Aid to patients under its care – particularly to those significantly struck by the financial burden of their illness. The focus is on the opportunity to get time away from everyday life for a few hours to offer relief and create space for new experiences.

Casinos Austria has been committed to socio-political causes in and for Austria for almost six decades. Our long-standing partnership with Austrian Cancer Aid – not least through the “Pink Ribbon” and “Loose Tie” initiatives – demonstrates the various forms this commitment takes, from financial support and raising awareness of these important health issues to actively facilitating participation in a cultural sense.
