In 1987, Casinos Austria launched the Casino Grand Prix, a tournament series intended to introduce Austrian show jumpers to the international elite. After 33 years, Casinos Austria is proud to say that this goal has been accomplished. In 2021, Casinos Austria launched a new era with the Casinos Austria Future Cup, which aims to support the “Young Riders” (18+) and U-25 equestrians as they forge their path towards the 2024 Olympics.

The tournament series for Austria’s young equestrians
With the Future Cup, Casinos Austria supports young show-jumping talents as they prepare for the 2024 Olympics.
Casinos Austria Future Cup has started its third season
In 2023, the tournament series for young Austrian show-jumping talent offers an attractive competition mode and a final prize of 6,000 euros in four tournaments. The kick-off took place in Carinthia on April 6.
The Casinos Austria Future Cup supports young talents in equestrian sports and aims to pave the way for them to compete in next year’s major sporting event: the 2024 Olympics in Paris. Equestrians between 18 and 25 years of age are eligible to participate in the Cup, which is being held in cooperation with the Austrian Equestrian Sports Association (Österreichischer Pferdesportverband – OEPS).
These were the tournament dates 2023
- 1st preliminary round: April 6 to 9: St. Margarethen, Carinthia
- 2nd preliminary round: May 26 to 29: Lassee, Lower Austria
- 3rd preliminary round: July 20 to 23: Zeltweg-Farrach, Styria
- 4th preliminary round: August 3 to 6: Kammer-Schörfling, Upper Austria
- Final round: August 6: Kammer-Schörfling, Upper Austria
General Director Erwin van Lambaart is convinced of the importance of promoting young talent and the success of the tournament series:
“Taking on socio-political responsibility in Austria is part of our corporate DNA, and that’s exactly what the Casinos Austria Future Cup is all about. We foster young Austrian show-jumping talent and support them on their way to the 2024 Olympics. The rules are quite demanding due to the participation of international competitors in the preliminary rounds, which makes the competition particularly exciting for young athletes as well as for the audience. Last year’s competition was an impressive demonstration of the fact that we have riders and horses in Austria who can jump at the highest competitive levels. We can look forward to exciting tournaments in 2023 and hopefully an Austrian medal winner in Paris next year!”
Fascination, excitement and unique experiences
Casinos Austria has always stood for fascination, excitement and truly unique experiences, and that is the best way to describe the emotions felt by the young equestrians at the Casinos Austria Future Cup. They bring with them the necessary fascination for this sport that makes it possible for them to take part in cups like this one. There is plenty of excitement in the four preliminary rounds and the final round, and the young equestrians are all sure to make some memorable experiences on their way to the top.
Clear focus on sustainability
With their offerings, the casinos bring added value to many regions and contribute to value creation to an extent that goes far beyond their own turnover – all with a clear focus on sustainability. In our company, sustainability is also an important factor when it comes to sponsoring partnerships. That’s why we’re pleased to support young talent development in show jumping with a view to the 2024 Olympics together with the Austrian Equestrian Sports Association (OEPS).
